Each year, ACBSP looks for an opportunity to give back to our conference host city while supporting education in the area. When ACBSP learned of the Back-to-School Bash event and how effectively it brought a community together to prepare students for the school year, it seemed the perfect candidate for our 2016 #ACBSP4Change initiative.
Atlanta Public Schools had a goal of providing 6,000 backpacks to Atlanta area students at the July 30 event. ACBSP partnered with APS, contributing $2,500 towards the Back-to-School Bash. A portion of every conference registration for ACBSP Conference 2016 helped fund this initiative. Kenita Williams, Partnerships Manager for the APS Office of Partnerships and Development, was on hand to receive the check. Williams later thanked ACBSP on Twitter, saying: “Huge thank you to @ACBSPAccredited for supporting our Back to School Bash and your partnership! #acbsp4change #APSpartnersrock.”
