During the Impact Luncheon at ACBSP Conference 2017 in Anaheim, California, ACBSP presented a representative from the Anaheim Union High School District (AUHSD) with a check for $2,500 to help fund events and activities in support of P21 Partnership for 21st Century Learning/Science Technology Engineering Arts Mathematics (STEAM), including the P21 Summit, the P21 Corporate Mentoring Program, P21 Sustainability Showcase, MESA (Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement) programs, tutors for the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) Program, and the AUHSD College and Career Fair.

P21, or the Partnership for 21st Century Skills, was founded as a coalition bringing together the business community, education leaders, and policymakers to help students prepare for 21st century careers. “To successfully face rigorous higher education coursework, career challenges, and a globally competitive workforce, it is clear that schools must align classroom environments with real world environments. That means not only emphasizing core content, but other academic subjects such as foreign languages, the visual and performing arts, civics, government, economics, history, and geography. P21 also emphasizes emotional and social intelligence (students being able to collaborate and exhibit good leadership and team skills), literacies in the use of media/technology, financial, civic, and environmental literacy, and global awareness/competence.”
