Delta Mu Delta Provides Uninterrupted Service to Members and Chapters in 2020

The past year has been full of change and challenge for Delta Mu Delta along with so many across the landscape of higher education. However, the Society’s Central Office was able to provide uninterrupted service to members and chapters throughout 2020. Those notable efforts demonstrate our staff’s commitment and resilience.

Although Delta Mu Delta has long provided the means to recognize and celebrate student excellence in online business programs, our embrace of virtual technologies has enabled us to both install new chapters and hold many induction ceremonies without a physical presence. National officers and board members have been excited to share in student celebrations and chapter successes via Zoom!

In addition, Delta Mu Delta has partnered with many of its chapters to offer a range of workshops, seminars, and networking activities as well. Virtual coffees and brunches have provided great opportunities to share speakers on business-related topics. One series of career-related panel sessions included a good number of Delta Mu Delta members now in the workforce who were enthusiastic to share their insights and experience. Plans for an expanded list and some new initiatives in 2021 are well underway.

In 2020, Delta Mu Delta was happy to recognize the Eta Chi chapter at Grand Canyon University with the Anthony J. Jablonsky Outstanding Chapter Award. The “Tony” award, honoring the memory of a long-time leader in Delta Mu Delta, is presented to a chapter that not only exceeds Society standards but has developed outstanding programs to provide additional and creative service to members.

Delta Mu Delta’s scholarship program continues and awarded over $95,000 in 2020. Look for your students and more details here: https://deltamudelta.org/scholarship-program/.

Remembering Chuck Fazzi

Together with so many across ACBSP, we mourn our recent loss of Charles Fazzi. Chuck was a long-time faculty member at St. Vincent College in Pennsylvania, served ACBSP in a number of roles, and was Delta Mu Delta’s President in 2009-2011.
